Women’s Soccer Heads to Colorado Springs for Matchup with Nationally-Ranked UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer continues its Colorado road trip on Sunday, Sept. 21, as the Lumberjacks face nationally ranked No. 19 University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) at 1 p.m. PT at Mountain Lion Stadium. Humboldt will look to rise to the challenge against a top-tier opponent as it closes out its two-game swing in the Centennial State.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lumberjacks (1-2-2) battled CSU Pueblo to a scoreless draw on Thursday night at Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium. Humboldt controlled the pace for much of the match, outshooting the ThunderWolves 17-2 and earning 11 corner kicks.

Karsyn Ross paced the offensive attack with five shots, while Morgan Young added three. Despite consistent pressure and seven shots on goal, the Lumberjacks were unable to find the inside of the net. Humboldt's defense stood tall, holding CSU Pueblo to just one shot on goal and neutralizing their attack throughout the match.

CLASH WITH THE MOUNTAIN LIONS
Humboldt now turns its focus to UCCS (3-1-1), who enter Sunday's match ranked No. 19 in the latest national poll. The Mountain Lions bring a potent offense and a stout back line, making them one of the toughest tests of the young season for the Lumberjacks.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs, adding intrigue to a match where Humboldt will look to carry over its defensive strength and turn sustained offensive chances into goals. A win would mark a signature moment early in the season for the 'Jacks as they prepare to wrap up the road trip.
