ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Soccer will open its 2025 season at home on Thursday, September 4, hosting Dominican at 11:30 a.m. at College Creek Field. The match will mark the beginning of the program's 30th season competing at the NCAA level as the Lumberjacks enter the season ranked sixth in the CCAA preseason poll and look to make an impact in non-conference play.
LAST TIME OUT
Cal Poly Humboldt comes into the matchup with strong preseason momentum, having won all three of their exhibition games. The Lumberjacks scored a total of 10 goals in three shutout victories against Folsom Lake College, Oregon Tech, and Southern Oregon University, giving the team confidence heading into the regular season. Dominican will test The Lumberjacks' early-season form as both teams aim to start their campaigns with a win.
ICING THE PENGUINS
Dominican comes to College Creek Field having played no exhibition games. In the 'Jacks most recent matchup with the Penguins last season, Humboldt came out on top with a 2-0 win. This season, Cal Poly Humboldt is led by head coach Grant Landy as well as a large group of returning athletes, including All-CCAA senior Frida Duran Arellano, 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year Heidie Munoz, and captains Josie Wolitzky and Alexis Blue. With 17 faces returning for the 2025 season and 13 new ones, the team will look to build on the success they have witnessed with a well-rounded performances at home in preseason play.
