ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt women's rowing continues to make waves on the national stage, as the Lumberjacks' Varsity 8+ crew has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Crew of the Week for the second time this season.
The honor comes after a dominant performance at the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championships in Vancouver, Washington, where Humboldt opened Saturday morning with a statement victory in the Women's Varsity 8+ race. The 'Jacks powered through the course in a time of 7:08.03, finishing more than 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Central Oklahoma (7:19.78) to claim the top spot.

The crew's performance set the tone for the regatta and reinforced Humboldt's position among the nation's elite Division II programs.
Head coach Matt Weise stated, "Our Varsity 8+ raced well this weekend. They have been making gains in their race plan and continue to push their speed. They have also made some important technical progressions that have helped their speed. The v8 coxswain, Giania Bogacki, has really elevated her performance and leadership within the boat."
Cal Poly Humboldt remains ranked No. 1 in the latest CRCA (Week 7) Women's Division II Poll, receiving three first-place votes. The 'Jacks have now held the top spot in four of the seven polls this season, including each of the last four (Weeks 4–7).
