ARCATA, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt men's soccer midfielder
Izaiah Grosveld has been named the CCAA Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 14-20, the conference announced Tuesday.
Grosveld recorded three goals and one assist for seven points across Humboldt's two CCAA matches last week. The sophomore contributed to all three goals in the Lumberjacks' 3-0 victory over Menlo before adding Humboldt's lone goal against Cal State East Bay.
After the Lumberjacks and Oaks played through a scoreless opening half Friday, Grosveld converted a penalty kick in the 70th minute to give Humboldt the lead. The goal stood as the match-winner.
Grosveld helped double the advantage less than seven minutes later, combining with
Luke Gomes to assist
Seth Uson's goal in the 77th minute. He completed the scoring with his second penalty-kick goal in the 83rd minute.
The Arcata local finished the match with two goals, one assist and five points while placing all three of his shots on target.
Grosveld continued his scoring run Sunday against Cal State East Bay.
Dominic Calero set him up for a goal in the 89th minute, giving Grosveld his third score of the weekend.
Through eight matches, Grosveld ranks fifth in the CCAA with 21 shots and is tied for 10th in goals with three. He leads Humboldt in goals, points, and shots.
The honor is the first CCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week award of Grosveld's career.

Grosveld and the Lumberjacks will return to action Friday, Sept. 25, when they face Cal State San Bernardino at noon at Premier Field. Humboldt will conclude its Southern California road trip Sunday, Sept. 27, against Cal State Dominguez Hills at 2 p.m. inside Toro Stadium.
