ARCATA – After extending its unbeaten streak to seven games, the Humboldt State women's soccer team will look to keep the momentum going against two more California Collegiate Athletic Association opponents. First up will be a battle for first place in the CCAA's North Division when the Jacks travel to Rohnert Park to face No. 16 nationally ranked Sonoma State Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The Jacks will then return home Friday to face Cal State Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m.
Head-to-Head: The Jacks are 5-9-2 all-time against Sonoma State. The two teams met on the final day of the season last year, a 1-0 Seawolves victory in overtime. ...The Jacks are 1-2-0 all-time against Cal State Los Angeles with the most recent result coming last season, a 2-1 CSLA victory.
Cumbo's Comments: “Our game against Sonoma State couldn't be coming at a better time for us. We have tons of confidence both offensively and defensively,” said Humboldt State head women's soccer coach Andy Cumbo. “Despite their record, Cal State LA always seems to have a few players who the ability to change a game. I expect them to be in the hunt for a spot in the conference tournament at the end of the year.”
