It was Nord's first collegiate goal and the game winner 1-0. …HSU holds a 6-2-0 record against CSU Monterey Bay. In their meeting earlier this year in Redwood Bowl, on Sept. 25, the Lumberjacks defeated the Otters 2-1 on goals from juniors

Johnson's Comments
“The last two weekends we have certainly put ourselves in a hole. I had hoped to do better over the last four games. I though we could have gotten a couple of those games, but things just didn't go our way. This week's rankings haven't come out yet, but we are playing teams that are ranked just below us. If we hope to be playing in November (NCAA Division II Regional Tournament play) we pretty much need to run the table in the last six games. Having faced these teams before and looking on paper, we can do it.” … “This past weekend we faced two of the three best teams in the CCAA and played right with them. Up 3-0 on (Cal State) L. A. we proved we could score on good team and have the lead. We got a little disorganized and allowed L.A. to come back. Against (Cal State) Dominguez Hills the match was going to go either way and someone was going to lose. It was a great match and unfortunately we came up on the short end of the score. I hope we can build off these games and that the ladies will respond.” … “SFSU is going to be a very tough game. They are a big, physical, tough team. We are a smaller team that relies on finesse and quickness. The last time was a battle for us. We didn't play a great game of possession, but that is because of the style that San Francisco plays. Of the two games this weekend San Francisco will be the tougher match-up for us.” … “Monterey Bay is a scrappy team. They also prevented us from playing our game the first time. But we showed that we were a good team by taking what they gave us and making it work.”
