Johnson's Comments
“The match this Friday (against Cal State Monterey Bay) is critical for several reasons. We don't want to finish at the bottom of the table. We want to finish on a positive note and they are a team that we should beat. It is kind of funny, if you want to use that term. We have both been hit by injuries and just haven't been able to put things together this season. It is a tough place to play because of the weather, but we have to stay focused and put together 90 minutes of quality soccer. If we can get our forwards the ball and they can put it on frame we can come away with a win.” … “San Francisco (State) is going to be a very difficult game. I don't think anyone in this conference likes going to San Francisco because they play a dump and chase style and have talented and physical players. It is a difficult field to play on late in the season, especially if the weather has been bad as it has been in the last seven days. The field, which is not all-weather, will be very slow and sloppy. It might end up being a quagmire.” … “The game on Sunday (at Sonoma State) was a lot of fun to be part of. Defensively and in the midfield we played very well, but up front we just didn't generate enough shots on frame. The game could have gone either way, just like the game on Friday (against Sonoma State in Arcata).”
