JACKS BEST START SINCE 2002

HSU has its best start to a women's soccer season since an identical 5-1 start in the 2002 campaign.

After losing to then No. 3 Western Washington in the season opener, HSU has rattled off five wins in a row. In those five wins, HSU has outscored its opponents 15-4.

SURPASS 2013 GOAL TOTAL

In only six matches, HSU has surpassed its 2013 goal total this season. The Jacks put 12 balls in the net a year ago in their 18 matches. After scoring four goals in last weekend's two Lumberjack Classic matches, HSU has totaled 15 in only six matches this fall.

HSU holds a 2.5 goal for average, which is third in the CCAA team stat ranks. The current average is 1.8 goals per game higher than last season's 0.67.

MITCHELL BLASTS PAIR VS. HOLY NAMES

Senior Lizzie Mitchell continued her solid play at center midfield last week. Mitchell connected on two of the Jacks' three goals in the 3-0 shutout of Holy Names.

For the season, Mitchell is tied for fourth in the CCAA with four goals. She also is tied for the lead with 28 shots attempted and third with 12 shots on goal.

NULL NAILS GAME-WINNER

With 24 seconds left in the second overtime, Maddi Null nailed the 30-plus yard game-winning goal for a 2-1 victory over BYU-Hawaii last Saturday.

Null sits tied with Lizzie Mitchell with a team-leading 10 points on the year. She has three goals and four assists on the year.

McMULLIN CONTINUES SCORING

Newcomer Taylor McMullin has shown a scoring prowess in her first six matches with the Jacks. The junior transfer from Mendocino College has scored a goal in each of the team's last four matches.

On the year, McMillin is tied for fourth in the CCAA's goal scorers with four. She is also ninth in shots on goal with eight.

BEHEN AMONG CCAA ASSIST LEADERS

Colette Behen is consistently part of the HSU scoring attack. The senior midfielder has assisted on four of the Jacks' goals this season, which ranks her third in the CCAA assists list.

Behen also has two goals to her credit and puts her tied for third with eight points on the team.
