Women’s Soccer Hosts Holy Names Friday

LIVE STATS | LIVE VIDEO

ARCATA, Calif. –
Humboldt State women's soccer returns home this week for a single non-conference match against Holy Names University Friday at 1 p.m.

HSU enters the match 2-8-1 overall and 1-4-1 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play after earning a point in a tie with Cal State San Marcos during last weekend's road trip. Holy Names has 1-6-1 overall record.

"We are coming off a tough road trip," said head coach Paul Karver. "It was a good environment for us to be in. We had some young players really step up. Our team is willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to get points."

HSU looks to get back on a winning track while patiently waiting for some key contributors to get healthy.

"Holy Names is a good program," said Karver. "They are struggling for results, but they are a very well-coached team. This week is about getting healthy, improving against Holy Names and getting ready for next week's return to conference play."

After the light week, HSU returns to conference play with home matches against San Francisco State (Friday, Oct. 14) and Cal State Monterey Bay (Sunday, Oct. 16).
