ARCATA, Calif. - Humboldt State women's soccer (1-0-2) continues its tough non-conference schedule this weekend as the team travels to the Dixie State Invitational to play the host Dixie State (0-2-0) on Thursday and Colorado Mesa (0-1-1) on Saturday morning.
"At this point of the season, it's about us," said Head Coach
Paul Karver. "We are prepared to win, but we are focusing on what we need to get done. With that being said, we know Dixie is fantastic. They are incredibly athletic and have a good mix of experience and youth."
The two games in St. George, Utah, follow a tough weekend where the Green and Gold played three games in four days. HSU expects the altitude to add an additional challenge this weekend. The Jacks have trained lightly this week to recover, and will train once in Las Vegas before making the drive to Utah for the games.
The Thursday night match will be Dixie State's home opener.
"We need to play the best opponents that we can in order to prepare for the CCAA," said Karver. "Every time we throw a test at these girls, they do very well. We expect them to do that again this weekend."
Live stats will be available through Dixie State's schedule.
