SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt women's cross country team competed at the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday, Oct. 10, testing their depth against a competitive field of twelve other programs.
WOMEN'S 6K
The Lumberjacks placed sixth overall out of 13 total teams, scoring 168 points. Senior Lex Craven led Humboldt with a runner-up finish in the race, clocking 21:52.12, just eight seconds behind the winner. Sophomore Charlotte Leonard followed in 40th at 23:12.83, while sophomore Lyla Fedio finished 44th in 23:20.73. Freshman Maddie McKenna crossed the line 50th at 23:28.44, and sophomore Anna Tasky rounded out the scoring five for Humboldt in 69th at 24:11.25.
The Jacks faced stiff competition from a deep field that included conference rivals Chico State, Stanislaus State, and Cal State East Bay. Humboldt's average time of 23:13.04 reflected strong team cohesion and consistent performances throughout the scoring five.
"Our coaches are very proud of this team," said head coach Scott Pesch. "Lex [Craven] had her best performance of the season and led her team to that sixth place finish."
UP NEXT
Humboldt will return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Bronco Invitational, continuing their preparation for the CCAA championships.
