ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Soccer enters their 30th season in 2025 with high expectations, earning a No. 6 ranking in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Preseason Coaches' Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Lumberjacks have built a tradition of consistency in recent years, qualifying for the CCAA Tournament in each of the past three seasons as the No. 5 seed. In 2024, Humboldt posted an overall record of 8-8-3, including a 5-4-2 mark in CCAA play, tying Cal State Monterey Bay for fifth place with 17 points.
Head Coach Grant Landy and the 'Jacks will return a strong offensive core highlighted by two of the conference's most dynamic forwards. Frida Duran Arellano, a senior and three-time All-CCAA honoree, returns to lead the attack, while Heidie Muñoz, the reigning 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year, looks to build on a breakout debut season.
Humboldt has 17 returners, which include captains Alexis Blue and Josie Wolitzky, to go along with an older group of Carson Thomson-Terrel, Camryn Patten, Morgan Young, Annie Hoffman, Marissa Volpe, and Payton Heaney. The 'Jacks brought in four transfers and have a large freshman core of nine new faces as well.
