Humboldt Athletics Hall of Fame
Collen was Humboldt State's Director of Athletics from 2002 to 2016. During that time, the Lumberjack scholarship allocations climbed from $194,484 a year to $908,087 a year. Under his leadership, Humboldt State's football and women's rowing programs made their first appearances ever in the NCAA National Championships. Women's rowing captured the national title in 2012 and 2014 while softball was national champions in 2008. Facility enhancements were a focus under his leadership, such as the on-campus softball field, Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, the KA Building that houses Lumberjack Arena, renovation of Redwood Bowl and the College Creek Soccer Field.
