Humboldt Athletics Hall of Fame
James McAuley was the anchorman on HSC’s first championship football team in 1952 and won all-conference honors in 1953 and 1954 as a center. After graduating he launched a career in coaching which ultimately led to his College of the Redwoods football team winning the state junior college championship in 1968. His athletic record book begins with three years of football at Polytechnic High in San Francisco. After joining Humboldt in 1952, he played football and baseball.
